| Biography
Lawson F. Bernstein, M.D. Board certified academically published clinical & Forensic neuropsychiatrist. Actively involved in clinical practice & teaching of Family Practice, Psychiatry, Neurology and Emergency Medicine Residents. Expertise in brain injury, stroke, neurotoxicology, acute/chronic pain, dementia, alcohol & substance abuse, gambling addiction and multiple other areas of neurology/psychiatry. Extensive criminal/civil (50/50 Plaintiff/Defense) trial experience, including death penalty cases/legal insanity/diminished capacity. Dr. Bernstein is currently the neuropsychiatric clinical consultant to the HealthSouth Harmarville Brain Injury, Stroke, Amputee, Dementia and Chronic Pain Programs, to the ICU at St. Margarets Memorial Hospital and to various clinical services at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is a forensic consultant to the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender, Federal Defender's Offices of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and other regional/national forensic agencies/facilities. From 1991-1994, Dr. Bernstein was Director of the General Psychiatry Residency Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, one of the largest academic psychiatric training programs in the U.S. Dr. Bernstein is also a Board Examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology Oral Examination.
