Licensed Real Estate Broker FACILITY & PROPERTY MANAGEMENT CONSULTING Alec Hicks, Jr. has spent the past 33 years managing user and investment real estate. Over 50 industrial, retail, office and residential properties, ranging up to 1,100,000 square feet and 210 residential units have directly or indirectly benefited from his property management skills. He has supervised a staff of ten property managers, managing a portfolio of over 7,500,000 square feet of commercial and industrial property. Mr. Hicks is a graduate of Villanova University (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering) and of Michigan State University (Master of Business Administration). He is a Licensed Real Estate Broker (Florida, New Jersey & Pennsylvania) and a Registered Professional Engineer (Michigan), and holds the professional designations Certified Property Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Real Estate Management and Real Property Administrator (RPA) from the Building Owners and Managers Institute. In 1994, Alec Hicks accepted an invitation to join the American Society of Real Estate Counselors. Mr. Hicks served as President of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management, as President of Building Owners and Managers Association of Philadelphia, and as a Director of Building Owners and Managers Association International. Since 1990, Mr. Hicks has consulted on facility and property management issues. Consulting assignments have assisted property owners, occupants and managers, including local and national corporations, state and Federal government agencies. These assignments include evaluating property management organizations, creating property management plans, developing property operation and maintenance specifications, and preparing property operating budgets as well as property inspections, due-diligence assessments, energy audits, project management, lease administration, lease audits, space measurement, and ADA compliance. As a Consultant, Alec Hicks integrates the technical knowledge of building operations and maintenance with a thorough understanding of occupant leases and building income and expense. This integrated approach assures both owner and occupant clients an effective and efficient approach to property administration. Since 1992, Mr. Hicks has participated in nearly 50 legal cases: 36% for defendants 64% for plaintiffs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Florida, Ohio, and Texas. Thorough understanding of the rights and responsibilities of owners, tenants and service providers - and of the management, operating and maintenance needs of real estate - provide Mr. Hicks with the ability to methodically analyze and comprehend each case.
