Southern Model Builders (SMB) was founded in Baton Rouge, LA in 1976, and has been engaged in engineering, design, fabrication, and construction of Professional Scale Models for over 25 years. SMB is now located in Daphne, Alabama. SMB provides general engineering model services, detailed design services within our models including civil, structural, piping, instrumentation, and electrical design for all industrial applications. SMB's has an open shop basis with our own in-house labor force. While the major portion of SMB's business has come from Industrial and the Pulp and Paper Market, our served market's include all the basic industries. In the last ten (10) years SMB has done increasingly more projects in the accident reconstruction and product liability fields for courtroom presentations. During SMB's formative years, the company's market focus was new industrial and rebuilds, repairs of existing models. SMB was viewed as an aftermarket specialty company by several industries. Although SMB's aftermarket focus remains an integral portion of our product and service offering, we have developed into a respected multi-discipline professional model-building firm.
